>>>Style - how in the hell did you not find out until noon the next day that you'd been thru the tornado(s). I live in Winter Springs, NE of Orlando. We got hit pretty hard, & anyone who was not comatose knew something was going on between midnite & 2 a.m. I got some pretty good damage to house & trees, but no-one hurt (thank you very much).<<<

Glad you made it through safely...we should both be thankful we weren't in Oceola county!

I knew there were tornadoes from listening to the radio last night, but didn't realize how close they really were. I don't know if you've visited Daytona before, but I live in a community called Pelican Bay -- it's right off of I-95. You probably heard on the local news how one of the tornadoes ripped through I-92 and over to I-95, right into a piece of our subdivision. In fact, the only thing separating the street that got hit and mine, is the 9th hole of a golf course and some canals. I've seen some hurricanes pass through before, but since Daytona has some sort of geographical advantage that usually spares it any close hits, I've come to not take these severe weather warnings as anything more than an annoyance...I guess I got a wake up call, huh? So I just figured the tornado was somewhere far off in the distance even when my walls were shaking. I was more eager to return to my work than anything else, so not until the next day did I realize the danger that was there.

Incidentally, I'm finally able to get on the net again -- my power went out again at about 4:30pm, and it finally was restored about 20 min ago. 10 damn hours! You see, that's what happens when we have monopolies in the utility biz. If we had a little competition, FPL would have been scrambling to get things back on track. I can't wait until that company over in Texas finally gets access to the power market here in central FL.

Style Pts.
