My theory on why we laugh when we are stoned on pot.

Carl Sagan, who was a pot smoker, wrote a book: "Brocca's Brain", based on the work of that great scientist, and in it he said he thinks the left brain rides rough shod over the right brain, and when one smokes pot it ties up the left brain and allows the right brain to manifest itself.

Robert Ornstein, an experimental psychologist described the left brain as involved in "sequential logic", and the right is involved in :" The simultaneous juxtapositioning of things"-big picture.

And I think alcohol does the same thing, represses the left brain, but not as well as it dumbs down the left brain, not just mixes it up like pot, per se.

And I think the reason so many great writers drank so much was they noticed if the drank alcohol they could get at creative concepts better---but then took it too far.

Anyway, back to laughter and pot.

Humor is the ability to juxtaposition reality, which is why comedians are the smartest people on earth. One has to know reality to juxtaposition it!

And so when we smoke pot, we are better able to juxtaposition reality and humor is spawned-lol.
