Spring 2007, London streets were peaceful. Our hotel was across the street from the Savoy Hotel where they were filming a period movie + an antique car show on adjoining streets including in front of our hotel.

We walked miles every day in the Westminster District area, Trafalgar Square (loc. of the National Gallery & National Portrait Gallery) The Temple District (where several Charles Dickens novels focused), St Paul's & the financial district, Old St. Pauls, Hampton Court Palace, The Tower of London, etc. Mind blowing historical sites.

Had no way of knowing it was "Twilight's Last Gleaming" of safe tourism in that once great city. .
