Not good news from BC

The latest report says we have lost ground in the last month, with the average BC snow pack declining from 79% of normal to 71%. Fires continue to break out in the drought-stricken areas (and extending into Alberta).

There was a bit of controversy this week, Fortis BC, which manages the provincial power grid, announced they are going to follow a practise already used in California, shutting off the power in areas directly affected by heat waves and fires. People understand the reasoning, but this would be an added blow to rual areas which with no more air conditioning and freezersful of food being ruined.
