Innovation can be thought of as new product revenues, invention can be thought of as novel drug portfolio and clinical trials. The presenter indicated the distinction is somewhat based on what would a company do with a phase 1 molecule. Effectively, invention is getting good molecules into trials.innovation is what companies do with those molecules.
