Customisable dimmable windows and shading systems for business jets will be the focus for Gauzy Aeronautics (formerly Vision Systems). Its Light Control Glass (LCG) provides dimmable windows that instantly transition from clear to various opacity levels – which the company says blocks UV rays, reduces glare and enhances visual comfort.
Using Suspended Particle Device (SPD) technology, these windows are designed to offer precise dimming, blocking up to 99% of visible light while preserving views. Combined with Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology, the windows provide light-filled privacy with a blackout effect. Passengers can control these features for a personalised experience or synchronise them with cabin automation systems.
Gauzy’s products, including LCG, mood lighting, and pleated or roller shades, can be configured for one, two or three windows. Each shading system offers customisable options such as sheer or blackout screens, personalised load bars, upholstery and mask materials, with synchronisation for control of defined areas, wave effects, and catch-up modes. Additional features, such as segmented tinting and printed brand designs, allow for tailored aesthetics and functionality.
Gauzy is also developing smart glass solutions for partitions with embedded transparent OLED technology, offering messaging, infotainment and instant privacy. Furthermore, the company is developing a modular plug-and-play window designed to combine advanced shading with features to improve the passenger experience, simplify installation, and enhance operational performance. |
