Immigrants are the answer, I agree 100%. They contributed to about 3/4 of the growth the past 3-years.

What's happening now was easy to foresee. Once California dropped below 50% white population, you could see how citizens who took their privilege for granted were threatened and would engage to uphold the status quo and even roll back times to when they didn't even think about anyone outside their pale peer groups.

My kids run into people whose heads are spinning with cognitive dissonance all the time. Gladiator daughter loves country music, and lots of the people she hangs around are MAGA maniacs. Somehow, they want everyone but her to be deported (she wasn't born in the US). She's OK. She just wants to have fun and doesn't get involved in the politics of things, but it is fascinating to see this play out in real time with a family member.
