Martin Clunes’ Islands of the Atlantic

Michael Palin remains the paragon of the Affable Englishman Abroad genre of travel shows, but as Palin ages, Martin Clunes is making a run for that status. His fourth Islands Of... series focus on the Atlantic Ocean, starting in the tropics just off Nigeria and ending up in Greenland, with various interesting stops across the three episodes. Like Palin he sometimes fumbles it when politics is involved, but in general he is able to give us some insights into the local culture as well as outstanding visuals. Recommended.

So far he has done the Americas (actually just the US), Australia, and the Pacific, so where next? The Pacific series was actually just the south Pacific, so maybe we will eventually get series on the North Pacific and the Indian Ocean. I’d watch them.
