I was never able to find a good trend following scheme for Gold. This article offers a few approaches. quantifiedstrategies.com Here’s a simple scheme with crossovers of Fibo 55 and 34 day EMA’s. Work nicely when Gold is trending - gets trickier when it’s flat or consolidating. No MA systems do well in a flat market. But - it smooths over the action and helps keep things in perspective.
