There is a stock market bubble, and I think the dollar will continue lower over time compared to other currencies, but I don’t see a dollar crisis. We are in for a period of stagflation like 1970s. US standard of living will remain highest in the world. While the gold standard is not coming back US proven fossil fuel reserves are the world highest. US is also the largest global oil producer, so we have petrodollar without any help from the Middle East or grabbing Ukraine’s natural reserves. How much lower? Probably the dollar index in the 80s at the bottom. The current account deficit will decline a bit. SPR will be refilled. AI progress will continue and US will shift to more robotics in all areas of business. Actual developer jobs will decline because of AI. That crap is real. Add potential quantum computing to that, although I remain a harsh critic of quantum computing, it’s mostly bullshit science which is likely to lose all funding in the next recession and under Trump Presidency. Cutting government R&D to fund tax cuts is a big mistake. Since R&D dollars contribute to economic growth in with a 30x multiplier.
