I am not a gold/mining bear, I just don’t care about them, these are old hard businesses which don’t grow fast and don’t generate outstanding profits or create new billionaires. These stocks can go up for 1-3 years or a more extended time period, but they don’t really grow like weeds and are a disappointing long term investment. Tech bubbles are better if you can ride them up and down -g-

The market makers in gold stocks love to prey on volatility related drops and reverse splits of the leveraged gold stocks funds like nugT and jnug or dust and jdst. Currently they will be reverse splitting the bear funds, then it will be bull funds turn. Both go to zero long term. In contrast, one can actually ride a leveraged long in tech or even SPX. The profit in SPX since 2010 is much smaller than in spxl
