Mother Nature did not change the rules.

The laws of physics and chemistry still apply the way they always did. Rather, humans have polluted the atmosphere with GHGs which have raised its overall energy content. As weather is at its core a system for redristrbtuting energy, when there is more energy there will be more and more intense storm events, and these storms will reach new areas at a wider range of dates.

Simple physics, nothing to do with a mythical construct like 'Mother Nature'...

Not trying to jump on you, Don, but it is important to correctly attribute the cause of the phenomena. To do otherwise just plays into the hands of the deniers.
