No the draw down wasn't the right thing to do.

1.The S in SPR is strategic. It is for time of war and for wartime production and not for political purposes.

2 The SPR isn't designed to be drawn down and refilled over and over. The salt domes need the fluid to support the caverns and damage occurs from lowered levels if repeated too much.

However, I understand your sentiment.

Drillers understand the boom bust cycle.

We have forward sold our 155mm artillery production for the next two years to Zelensky. Drawdowns aren't the correct thing to do that put our security at risk in anything.
