We can't be hard on ANCOR for being to broad in respect to the adapters. The developed and sold them not because they wanted too, but because it was a necessity from the beginning. There was no alternative to using the ANCOR adaptors. No one would buy a switch if they didn't have adapters for there workstations and servers that would interact with there switches. As adaptor companies have developed fc switches, ANCOR has been able to de-emphasize and slowly move away from an area of business they didn't want to focus on from the beginning.
