And if the Mmkrs have inventory of RMIL stock, why would they go short??

With the latter, stock is sold that doesn't officially exist and done so in the hope that the artificial selling pressure will eventually shake out the shares they need to cover.


Don't you believe that illegal naked shorting occurs all the time with BB stocks when inventory (stock certificates) exists along with churning all in an effort to give the illussion of a panic sell. When you are already short, the last thing that you want to see is a significant rise in rise. Therefore, shorters will continue to short until there is virtually no inventory (certificates) which apparently was happening up to the day of the halt.
