The fire season hasn't even started yet, but fire conditions are awful across large swathes of Canada.

An important hydroelectric power station is under threat in Labrador, but the main problems are in a huge drought-stricken area running from western Ontario through northern BC. Manitoba and Saskatchewan have declared states of emergency and thousands have had to be evacuated from the sparsely inhabited areas of these provinces.

Unfortunately the weather forecasts are no positive.
