Re: Oracle To Buy $40B NVIDIA Chips

Update

January's announcement of the artificial intelligence-focused Stargate Project boosted enthusiasm for the technology sector, amid the size and scope of the $500B project.

And while working is being done on the first data center in Abilene, TX. (with other sites to come), investment firm UBS has begun to quantify how much of a boost key players such as Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), Oracle (NYSE:ORCL), OpenAI and others could get from the initiative.

Nvidia is likely to be the prime beneficiary of Stargate, UBS analysts Karl Keirstead, Timothy Arcuri and Radi Sultan wrote, particularly as OpenAI scales its compute needs via Oracle, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV).

At full capacity, the data center in Abilene implies a demand of 400,000 Nvidia GB200s, which Keirstead said could be worth roughly $20B in revenue, depending upon the GPU mix. “We also see additional networking revenue that could push the total opportunity to $25B,” the analysts wrote in a note to clients.
