Seven dead and 71 injured in sabotage of a railway bridge in Russia’s Berdyansk. As the peace negotiations unfold, with a second round of talks expected tomorrow (2) in Istanbul, the war in Ukraine continues unabated, with Russian forces advancing not only in the Eastern Donetsk Oblast, but also in northern regions of Sumy and Kharkov.

Just in the last week of offensive operations, Russia has occupied over 18 Ukrainian settlements and about 200 square kilometers, according to German newspaper BILD.

With its frontline formations collapsing in multiple points of the frontline, Ukraine is resorting ever more to asymmetrical tactics – a.k.a. terrorism.

Just three days ago, a suicide bomber blew himself up in Stavropol and killed Russian Major Zaur Aleksandrovich Gurtsiev.

The bomber, who rented a room in the Major building, approached Gurtsiev and detonated explosives in his bag – both men died.

Now if that was not enough, TWO Russian railway bridges were blown up overnight in Russia’s Kursk and Bryansk in sabotage attacks.

The explosions and train derailings left a deadly trail of 7 fatalities and dozens of wounded, mostly civilians and including children – in a move that will most likely prompt severe retaliation by Moscow, in the eve of the June 2 talks in Istanbul.

RT reported:

“On Saturday evening, a bridge fell in front of a moving train in Bryansk Region, killing seven people and injuring 71 others. Several hours later, early on Sunday, a railway bridge collapsed under a moving freight train in Kursk Region, leaving the driver and two of his assistants wounded.”

“The Investigative Committee said in a statement on Sunday that the bridges had been ‘blown up’ in both incidents.

[…] Speaking about the derailment in Bryansk Region, Russian Senator Andrey Klishas blamed Kiev and branded Ukraine ‘a terrorist enclave, without borders, legitimate authorities or laws’.”

Watch: Chaotic moments after Bryansk region bridge collapse, as people rush to help man trapped in railroad car.

Sputnik reported:

“A passenger train traveling from Klimovo, Bryansk region, to Moscow was passing under a bridge on the A-240 federal highway when a span of the bridge collapsed directly onto the train. The impact damaged the locomotive and several railcars, causing a derailment.

The train was carrying 388 passengers. Authorities confirmed that seven people were killed, including the train driver. Sixty-six people were injured, 47 of whom were hospitalized, with three in critical condition. Among the injured were two children, including a 5- to 6-month-old baby in a serious condition.”

Bryansk Governor Alezandr Bogomaz stated that the bridge has been intentionally blown up.

“Just hours later, on June 1, a second railway incident occurred in the Kursk region. Acting Governor Alexander Khinshtein reported that a railway bridge on the Trosna–Kalinovka Road collapsed as a freight locomotive was crossing it.

The bridge collapsed around 3:00 AM local time, causing the locomotive and three empty freight cars to derail and fall onto the highway below. A fire broke out in one of the locomotive sections but was later extinguished.”

Watch: massive hole in ground and smashed-up train on site of Kursk region bridge explosion.
