Multiple People Set on Fire in ‘Targeted Terror Attack’ on Pro-Israel Group in Colorado
Kipp JonesJun 1st, 2025, 7:16 pm

Police in Boulder, Colorado, are investigating an attack that left multiple people burned after a man allegedly set them on fire during a gathering, according to CNN.

A suspect is in custody, Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn confirmed during a Sunday news conference.

“When we arrived, we encountered multiple victims that were injured with injuries consistent with burns and other injuries,” Redfearn said.

The incident occurred during a peaceful pro-Israel demonstration, the chief made clear.

“This was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in downtown Boulder on Pearl Street, and this act is unacceptable,” he said. “I ask that you join me in thinking about our victims, the families of those victims, and everyone involved in this tragedy. Our hearts go out to them, and we are going to do everything we can to work as hard as we can throughout the evening to provide more information to get answers for everyone.”

CNN further reported the FBI was investigating the violence as a “targeted terror attack”:

The reported attack took place at the Boulder Run for Their Lives event, the Anti-Defamation League said on social media. The weekly gathering of Jewish community members is meant to support the hostages taken during the October 7 attacks in Israel in 2023.

The incident happened ahead of the holiday of Shavuot, according to the ADL – a Jewish holiday which celebrates the giving of the Torah to the Jewish people on Mount Sinai.

FBI Director Kash Patel put out a statement about the incident.

“We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado,” Patel said. “Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available.”

The ADL said in a statement, “We are aware of reports of an attack at today’s Boulder Run for Their Lives event – a weekly meeting of Jewish community members to run/walk in support of the hostages kidnapped on 10/7. ADL is monitoring the situation in Colorado as we approach the holiday of Shavuot.”
