They tried to save 6 stores and consolidate operations, but it didn't work out. I wish it had.
The Bay was a very good shop, but in recent years they tried to become Saks 5th Ave and Nordstrom, I suspect because those guys moved into Canada. And that was a very stupid mistake. Not only Saks and Nordstrom both did poorly in Canada and ultimately closed shop, why in the world would you want to compete with them head on and make the market even crowder?

Then they fell. They fell later than Nordstrom and Saks, but the damage had been done and you could see it. They lost their old clientele and never got the new ones they had hoped for.
