CellularVision USA Completes World's First LMDS Operation & Communication Center (LOCC)
New Fiber Network Links LOCC with Key Network Hub Sites
NEW YORK, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, CellularVision USA (Nasdaq: CVUS - news) unveiled its world class LMDS Operation & Communication Center (LOCC). The company also announced the completion of a new 500-mile fiber optic capacity, which connects the LOCC to key CVUS hub sites within the company's New York service area.
Located at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, the new center will significantly expand and improve the delivery of SPEED(SM), CVUS' revolutionary broadband high-speed Internet service, and the company's studio quality subscription television package. The facility will also control the content delivered to CVUS subscribers on a customized, cell-by-cell basis. This allows CVUS to offer low-priced subscription television service to residents of Brooklyn and Queens, while it simultaneously devotes the same bandwidth to offering advanced two-way digital service to Manhattan businesses.
