Re: Social Security pymts causing a person to jump into a higher Medicare income bra

BG, That's exactly what I started doing when I hit Medicare eligibility. Handy spreadsheet I use to capture all generated income then I pull in the reins, if needed. so far so good. But sometimes I wonder if that is the right thing to do. Potentially, can generate much more income than the additional premium for Medicare.

I will be coming up against a good problem to have (I suppose). In a few years when I am required to take an RMDs from my 401K and IRA I will jump tax and Medicare brackets. I'm doing some Rollovers to Roth but only a dent so not to pay a big tax hit. Poor planning on my part by not rolling earlier in life and not using the Roth 401K plan instead. Oh Well !! I'll know better in my next life
