Just in case anyone was getting bullish...........

Bad news for Indonesia. The number of people living below the poverty line is expected to increase from 24m to 72m as a result of the economic meltdown. GDP per capita (@ 12,000 Rp/US$) is US$236 compared to US$750 in China and US$400 in India. At the worst point of the crisis in the 1980s Philippines got down to GDP of US$500/capita.

For reference Indo GDP per capita was US$440 in 1987.
