Apparently you don't know that, after real estate, slaves were the most valuable commodity in the country. By far. They were used as collateral and they were used in gambling and they were bought and sold like cattle.

They were money.

Yes, it was about money which is another way of saying it was about slavery. To say it was about "money"is a good Marxist thing to say, something I am pretty sure you are schooled in.
