Fields Aircraft Spares Appoints Former British Cabinet Minister to Board of Directors

SIMI VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 1998--Fields Aircraft Spares Inc. (Nasdaq:FASI - news) Tuesday announced that, effective Feb. 14, it named Sir Jeremy Hanley to its Board of Directors as an independent director.

Hanley's experience in government and industry, particularly the aviation industry, spans more than 30 years. He was a member of the Cabinet of the British Government under Prime Minister John Major, and served as Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office with direct responsibility for the Middle East, Far East and Pacific regions.

Hanley also acted as Minister of State for the British Armed Forces from 1993 to 1994. He is a chartered accountant and has consulted on numerous financial transactions with top banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions throughout the world.

Peter Frohlich, chairman of the board for Fields, commented on the appointment: ''We could not have envisioned adding anyone with a broader global knowledge base than Jeremy. His business and foreign relations experience will be a huge asset to the company.
