Paul, Re: " Covington " - A kludge which will be OK until Mendocino is ready. It will be Intel's first
effort at wedging the Pentium II/Slot 1 into the sub $1000 PC market."

Paul, please don't call it a kludge! I plan on using it until Mendocino is available, for some not extremely high computing power applications. Like I said before, we can use it as a vehicle to run all our software against, to make sure PII is compatible with P5 (I'm really worried about it, yeah, right). Actually, one of the applications uses OS/2 for the operating system, which is not a slam dunk for compatibility assurance because there aren't hundreds of millions of users qualifying it for you as in Windows. On top of that, the drivers can be especially "squirrely" to get working between OS/2 and the peripheral devices. Covington will also be useful in getting all the agency approvals (big brother is watching you!).
