At the end of this mornings LMDS auction bidding:
last round
Market Bid ($M) per pop high bidder bid on
Atlanta 7.194 2.25 WNP 1
Boston 9.301 2.25 WNP 1
Chicago 18.410 2.25 WNP 1
Dallas 9.742 2.25 WNP 1
Denver 15.753 7.60 BTA Assoc 11
DC 9.267 2.25 WNP 1
Las Vegas 5.644 6.59 BCK 11
LA 36.011 2.48 NextBand 2
Miami 7.359 2.25 WNP 1
New York 41.034 4.32 Cortelyou 10
Philly 15.928 2.70 Cortelyou 2
Phoenix 11.282 4.69 ALTA 9
San Fran 22.436 3.49 NextBand 8
Seattle 6.705 2.48 NextBand 2

WinStar is leading in 6 Markets; Charlotte NC (there you guys go),
Columbus OH, Greensboro-Winston-Salem NC, New Haven CT, NY B-Block,
Norfolk VA.

Big players look like they are going out of their way so as not to
compete with each other. WNP's only new leads- Albany, Buffalo, and
Rochester NY, Dayton OH, and Tampa-St. Pete. NextBand (Craig McCaw)
who has appeared interested in the West Coast, only bid on Lexington
KY, Huntsville AL, and Chattenoga TN, since nobody will overbid them
on the West Coast.

Not sure I understand why just a few markets, ie Las Vegas, Denver,
and Phoenix, seem to be getting most of the action. Does anybody
believe these are worth 3 times Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, etc?
