Consider eating a handful of salted almonds each day. I prefer natural foods if possible and I believe the potassium and magnesium in almonds are good for sleep and other things as well. I also like Bodyarmor Lyte from Costco after windsurfing or hiking.

My problem after heavy exercise is I get VERY hungry and will eat too many carbs for the rest of the day. Several pros at my health club and others I exercise with suggest getting a good amount of protein in my system soon after exercising along with replacing electrolytes. It seemed to help and I'll try different things like "Muscle Milk" for a quickie right after to salted nuts and beef jerky driving home while chugging some Bodyarmor Lyte right after exercising.

It is fun to give different things to Grok to compare.
