CO2 and Its Impact on Plant Life and why we know it is CO2

feel free to to write in that's no problem at all and I'll gladly send it to you and again feel free to go through

it. if there's something wrong please tell us we're not here to say we are the last word in this yes we think we found what is the fundamental error that led them to think that global warming was a problem and
it's pretty clear that after correction of this error there's no good evidence that it's a problem and all the mounting evidence is that actually the enrichment

of the atmosphere with CO2 is is greatly improving the plant life on Earth in
fact the the the the biomass of all trees and plants on Earth has not fallen
over the last 33 years it's increased by somewhere between 15 and 30%
and we know that the direct cause of that is CO2 fertilization because we
measure that by way of monitoring what's called chlorophyll fluoresence by
satellites from space so we know that that is why we're getting this
luxurant growth in trees and plants and it's no
surprise therefore that the harvest of agricultural crops worldwide reached
another record high just last year and is likely to be exceeded again this year
although some of that is attributable to modern agricultural methods and uh fertilization the hab
process and so on fact is some of it is also attributable to CO2 the the one thing we can say is that
CO2 is certainly not making things worse for the harvest it's definitely making it better so there are many good points about CO2 which tend to get left out of the debate and uh this I think is something that's now got to change scientists have got to learn that you
must look carefully at both sides of the argument and not just cling for reasons
of politics or profit to the side that you happen to find congenial or in which increasingly these days you've simply been indoctrinated at school and at university so is there anything at all we can learn

about your uh your work by looking at the temperature on other planets other than earth to try to like sanity check

it it's very very difficult to do that partly because the temperature measurements on Earth are uncertain
enough if you then get into trying to measure the temperature on other planets the uncertainty becomes so large that

58:07

you can draw no useful conclusions and also you would need to have a pretty good idea of the atmospheric composition

58:14

in those planets and how it's changed over time uh in order to get some idea of the time variance in feedback

58:20

intensity and of course we simply don't have those measurements so no that doesn't it's a very good question but no

58:26

that I don't think at the moment I can't see a way of using other planets to back

58:31

this up i mean we you know you can look at Venus and say look it's got lots of CO2 in the atmosphere and it's very hot

58:36

but it's also very much closer to the sun than we we are said to be hot anyway and yes the fact that there's a lot of
