James, chemistry isn't in my background, but I believe that gold is an element. As such we can find it but we can't make it, where as diamonds are a manipulated compound of elements. In other words you can change gold properties by adding to it, but it is impossible to subtract from it in its purest form. God made the elements just the same as he defined the boundaries of mathematics. We can discover them and but we can't create them. They are Alpha and Omega, a never changing constant in this universe. I'm sure their are some with a scientific bent that could shed a clearer light on this, perhaps some will post their comments here. Cheers, Jon
