Conservatives blasted Trump as he decided whether to aid Israeli objectives in Iran with a potential strike
Notable Republicans are making their feelings known about a potential war with Iran, and it's left U.S. President Donald Trump at odds with his own party.
In a viral video clip, Conservative 'commedian' Theo Von and Republican Rohit 'Ro' Khanna from California discuss 'America first' and how 'no one' they 'know' wants to go to war.
Ro Khanna asked Von if he knew anyone 'for' the war. Von, a deeply criticised figure on both ends, responded with a rant: "No, even like, even like hardhead, you know, like, even guys who are like Navy, former Navy, no, none of them. Nobody is saying yes," he began.

"And I felt like the biggest thing that's... there's so many things right now and it's like that I feel like In the world that are kind of stressing people and making people nervous. But one of the things is I felt like it was supposed to be America first, like we're focusing on like, what are we doing to get things back into America, right?"
"So like, increase like the purpose of being an American to refill like our hearts with blood and like and make us feel something again here and make us be excited about being an American, right?" Von went on.
"And I felt like that was what a lot of the energy was for. And then now that we're caught up here and it feels like we are just working for Israel, I think to a lot of people it's I don't know," Von continued, now pulling in an antisemitic trope.
"You just really start to feel very disillusioned, pretty quickly, and, and I don't mean disillusioned in people, I don't mean disillusioned in like the human beings, but this disillusionment in our leaders, right?" Von finished as Ro Khanna nodded along.
Republicans are often staunch isolationists, with Trump running on the premise that he's the anti-war president.
Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, commentator Tucker Carlson, and conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk, with legions of their own devoted followers, have also gone viral for posting videos of Trump’s 2024 promises to resist overseas military involvement.
On social media and their popular airwaves, questions about Trump’s stance from these central validating voices are exposing a crack in his forward guard. They are also warning that the schism could deter progress on other priorities.
Trump's recent moves, like plotting a rift with Netanyahu and rushing home from the G7 summit, have sparked new speculation from his isolationist devotees that the U.S. might be deepening its involvement.
Other strong Trump backers, including Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., are making the case that this is Trump’s moment to deliver a decisive blow against Iran. |
