apple really has no clue about how to unlock simple AI tasks that would make a huge differnce. but they do it so that they have to replace the unit, not find it.

Here is a suggestion that would make a huge differnce. In the find me app, setup a persistent last known location, using the battery level being critically low and last known location. If your battery fails, then the unit is unfindable. if you simply recorded the last known, the unit is most likely at that spot.

also they could put in a trace history for a unit that the user could set to active.

but both of these help find lost airpods and apple won't do it to make a $75-$125 profit off the fact that you lose them all the time.
