Dear Grant: The Lord is fantastic about getting people to the right other people. You are talking to an old Zeta Psi. We started our own frat in college and called it A P T ,Alpha Pi Tau because we started in an apartment. From there we leased a house and then went national. During my tenure as alumni president we bought a house , using three mortgages, and since have paid for the house once but, borrowed against it again to restore the house. If you are ever in Blacksburg Va. go by 303 East Roanoke Street and look up Zeta Psi, at Va. Tech and State University. Well likewise I was saved in soph yr.. The brothers deep down respect you for that; don't ever be convinced otherwise. They elected me to The University Fraternity Council where I was elected Vice President of the Interfraternity Council for the whole university. We served as the liaison to the school administration. Actually, we had a lot of power and served in a kind of police mentality. Sure I would go out and have a few beers but it would have been beneath the dignity of our office to be caught drunk. We would rotate by each frat on a regular basis and read the riot act. We could suspend parties, pledging activities ect. for frats getting out of line. Actually our main purpose was to keep the administration off the backs of the frats, so we policed ourselves . The Lord used me even then to witness to brothers; one friend "Jud" was his name told me there was no God and that Christianity was for sissies that couldn't stand on their own; he said for weak people ! This brother later committed suicide, after being beaten down to the point he was driving a cab in DC with a masters degree in Econ. I have always rued the day I could not convince him to give his heart to Jesus; but I honestly tried as hard as I could so , over a six month period; so I feel no condemnation for that; God gives us all a free will, and is a gentleman about it; remember he "knocks" and requests permission to enter. You have a lot going on, and you need to have God establishing your own life; but we can all be Johnnie Apple Seeds; quitely digging our little holes and dropping our little seeds in whenever we can.
