If only we could take the best parts of a free market system, the best parts of socialism and the best of an altruistic humanism that takes the best of 500+ religions and transcends them..

But it does not appear to be in our nature. It appears that our hierarchical and competitive instincts keep leading to conflict, not cooperation. Forget Marx, Hegel or a Trump Bible. Read Carl Sagan's Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, I think he nailed it.

When a fight breaks out in my town, large groups of people gather to watch, cheer, and make TikTok and YouTube videos. Some result in death by blows, knives or guns. Those videos blow up in views. Why do people enjoy depravity? WTF is going on with people outside our bubble, tribe, or whatever we are??

Only a few of us would take the risk of breaking up a fight between strangers. Some would say we are foolish to try. Like someone who stops to help a stranger change a flat tire, these are my models of a better future.

Altruism is also in most human's nature (though I am convinced the Stephen Miller's and most hate-mongers of the world are missing something in their brains of which few recover from.)

I'm rambling- apologies. I'm exhausted from painting my porch and stairs.
