Latest from Agoracom: 10 POET customers/relationships and more
I was thinking about the sample PO's for 10 customers that Suresh mentioned yesterday. At the time, I could only think of 7 off the top of my head, but thinking harder and going back to NRs, I can find 10 quite easily. I only have to go back to January 3rd, 2024 to come up with a list of 10, combining memory of known updates and NRs. Of the top 10 on this list, the only relationship that we haven't received any sort of direct or indirect update on in the past 12 months is ZKTel.
- Celestial AI (6/2025 AGM update)
- Luxshare (8/2024 update)
- Foxconn (5/2024)
- Adtran (4/2025 OFC update)
- Mitsubishi (9/2024)
- Mentech (9/2024)
- Lessengers (4/2025)
- InSiGa (9/2024)
- Unknown HFT customer (2/2025)
- ZKTel (1/2024)
- Yuanjie Semiconductor Technology (10/23)
- Could this be Unknown laser supplier from China - 11/21?
- FeiYunYi Technology (2/2023)
- Lumentum (11/2022)
- Fibertop (mentioned in 10/2023 release of Yuanjie ST)
- Unknown laser supplier from China (11/2021) - Maybe duplicate pending #11 on list
This is a list of customers/relationships I could compile going back to 2020. Going through all the news releases, I would say COVID, coupled with the SPX relationship and focus on China caused a 3-4 year delay for POET, as there were several false starts from 2021-2023. This has clearly been painful for many long timers and the SP then and now reflect this rocky time I believe.
As for the hear and now, personally, I have found myself wanting more updates from POET on relationships all along the way. But if I'm being honest with myself, the list provided and the false starts, tell me this expectation may be a bit unreasonable. They have a LOT of irons in the fire right now and have been burned by some of their communication in the past (self-inflicted or not). Not only are they trying to build product and collaborate with each of these different customers, they are also trying to expand capability and capacity in so many other ways. Production expansion and know how, IP development and protection, manufacturing relationships, hiring, business administration, facility management. The list can go on and on. Though their communication has been a source of frustration, given all they have going on, I think I may start to ease up a bit on my expectations for them.
POET has done a phenomenal job in the past 18 months, IMO. They deserve a lot of credit for keeping the ship afloat and putting themselves on a bearing for greatness. For me, NationGate is the the proverbial "bird at sea", indicating we are near our destination and our journey to new and greater things has begun. POET has been given very valueable manufacturing space to do its thing RIGHT NOW at NationGate. The customer relationships require development and time; NationGate represents a new type of relationship where we take up SPACE for someone who is a highly capable, profit generating business (Globetronics is great, but they do not supply Nvidia). NationGate loses money when they aren't making stuff. Share price may not reflect all of our hopes and dreams in the next 3 months, but I have more confidence than ever that POET will make newbies like myself and longs alike, very, very happy in the next 2 years.
Enjoy the weekend folks.
Thread continues
I need to step away and enjoy the weekend but there is one more point that I want to make.
The fact that Suresh needs to address the supply chain associated with gain chips suggests that POETs Blazar application does not have any competition. He very much believed that their ability to integrate Mitsu's advanced EML was going to be the best approach for efficient mass production and it definitely appears that he was correct in that pursuit.
The Blazar is again a huge step ahead of anything that industry has shown us. The versatility of the optical interposer to adapt to changing needs of industry is real.
Have a great weekend all. By the way I am impressed with the positive attitude being demonstrated here post AGM.
Well done people!
I think Broadcom can be added based on the AGM, "We’ve talked about it for almost five years now, and now it’s slowly starting to become real with not just NVIDIA, but also Broadcom and several other customers."
I don't know why I say this, I want the price to come down so I can buy some more. Not sure why Broadcom wouldn't want it known, I'd be more likely to buy Broadcom stock if I knew they were going to use POET. |
