But what is left when Republicans do stuff like this?

I've always admired smart, fiscally conservative Libertarians and tech wizards. It pains me to see Elon, Rand Paul and Thomas Massie shoot for perfection while attacking modest improvements. Elon gets his power base from envisioning a better way and leveraging government assistance to get there. Pretty anti-Libertarian if a tyrannical "liberal" government is imposing the "assistance" by mandate.

Since the GOP Libertarians are a minority in the GOP, they leverage their power by saying "no" to some of the things they should be saying "yes" to doing if they were going by popular GOP base. The tyranny of "no" to a popular will is also pretty anti-Libertarian. RINOs use it more than they should by claiming their base is larger than the GOP. So they know better than the people who elected them. It doesn't fly with me unless I see a track record of results. I give Trump the benefit of the doubt most of the time. He's built the track record.

I try to make a distinction between RINOs and GOP Libertarians, but it gets difficult when they grandstand on their high principles to pander to people like me. Yes, I like the GOP Libertarian principles, but not when it results in hypocrisy. It takes a certain amount of funds to clean up all the mistakes of "liberal" experimentation and to get away from the banker's blackmail of an impending debt ceiling.

I like the idea of setting examples to incentivize self-deportation. It's a good way to leverage improvements. Good to see Thom Tillis self-deport. RINO Lisa Murkowski has threatened to self-deport from the GOP, however the problem there is it is already too close to the truth.

Splitting up a party's popular will by breaking it up and watering it down is what Ranked Choice Voting does. RINOs Murkowski and Susan Collins are assisted by that voting method. It makes primaries that much more difficult by turning them into a coalition of the biggest panderers.

Herding cats is hard work. We have chickens. Herding them is easy if you have some cracked corn.
