Happy 4th!! Noticed this - about private equity funds. Sounds like managing them is a nice job - if you can get it. They have leeway which items to include or not to include in performance reports. Some years back, they also changed their benchmarks to lower performing indices. Overall, even with large fees and bonuses, they’re not doing better than public funds. papers.ssrn.com
