Hello fellow Investolators.
I am continuing my reports on the week’s result on my stocks that I bought based on Ted Warren formations, however, I don’t consider my results right now to fairly represent what Ted’s methods can produce since I have sold off most of my stocks that were performing well.
I am also working on a new strategy for buy and selling of stock. I am still mostly trying to find good look Ted Warren type stocks but I am looking at trading them in more of the fashion of a swing trader, trying to get in and back out again on what I hope will be significant, but not huge, up moves. If I am successful in this, I am thinking that at some point I will get an up move that has the momentum for a bigger move and then I may just hold for the longer ride. The question is, will this work well enough to not only make good money, but, to be a good choice, I need to be making enough money on the swings to offset the higher taxes of short-term capital gains verses the long-term capital gains that are sometimes possible on a good Ted stock.
I sold RAIL this week which I consider to be another Ted stock even though I did not buy is on the Ted buy signal. I was late getting in and that has caused me to miss out on a very big gain that was possible for those buying on Ted’s buy signal. Still, I once had about a 200% gain but I thought the stock was going much high (it may still) and I watched it fall back to being in a losing position before it rallied again. I took a 50% gain but I will be watching for a possible buy again.
I added a stock with the intention of a swing trade but I think it could be a moderately big gainer in the long term. It is UUUU which BigSkyCD had on his watch list. It had some pretty good fundamentals and it had already given a Ted buy signal followed by a rise and then what may be a consolidation period.
O.K., on with my report ...
This week was slightly positive although I would have a hard time saying how good it was for just my Ted stock since my portfolio has several other stocks that were not bought by Ted formations and buy signals.Of my Ted stocks, I had 6 stocks up, 5 down, and 1 unchanged. I had no double-digit gainers or losers.
One more note. I had an error in my spread sheet cell formulas last week so there were many errors in last week’s report. I have correct this in my spreadsheet but I am not putting out a corrected post. I’m just going on with this week with weekly gains or losses based on last week’s corrected values in my sheet.
