I've seen at least a half dozen research articles in recent issues of Science, the weekly journal of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, detailing improvements in lithium batteries, not just silicon anodes but also the doping of lithium plates, reducing heat when charging or discharging, and taking less time to recharge. Along with this are improvements in solar photovoltaic cells, made from much lower cost perovskite materials, which will eventually reduce the existing cost of solar facilities, already competitive with fossil fuel electric generation in many regions.

As for foldables, I have owned the Samsung clamshell flip phone, Galaxy X6 series with the TSM made Snapdragon chip, suitable for AI, for almost a year. It is lighter than non-folding phones because the main screen is plastic, which is lighter than glass. The phone operation has been very good, and one advantage of its design is that you don't need an extra bulk external cover to protect the screen.
