I have no idea what that first paragraph is intended to convey. Blasphemy??? What does religious dogma have to do with what we are talking about? Next you are going to call me a heretic and demand my execution! But do free free to excommunicate me, an honour I would be happy to accept.

And I am not a leftist, except maybe on the American political system which is so heavily skewed to the right. Remember, Kamala Harris Obama would be right of centre in Canada and most other democracies.

In any case, getting back on topic, if the Texas flash floods had happened last year, FEMA would have been ready and waiting to help even before the event happened. But under the new Trump policies, which are clearly designed to make FEMA ineffective so they can get rid of it, there weren't even allowed to begin mobilizing until two days later. And the local disaster communications structure was so gutted by DOGE, the local authorities were not even included when conference calls finally started happening to plan the response.

I heard talk yesterday of the potential of flash floods extending into New Jersey, which if it happened/happens I hope will end the drought you've been suffering..

Things are turning bad again in Manitoba. The province is back into a state of emergency, and another 6000 people received evacuation orders, with the total now up to 12000. And remember that most of these people already went through a month long evacuation that ended a few weeks ago.
