Buying pressure - What type of investor would buy Ciena in the near term: Speculation- CIEN did in fact invoke a shareholders right plan. This does not happen because they are bored and have nothing to do that day. Bandwidth, Bandwidth, Bandwidth. U.S. Fiber infrastructure is presently at 80PCT capacity and while at 70K per mile to plant new Fiber WDM products are by far more cost effective. BTW, Scaleable not only means new/additional channels into the present backplane but integrating such access mediums such as OC3, OC12, etc...ACCESS and TRANSPORT one box for seamless lightwave. Who cares what the lower layers are, i.e. ATM, IP, etc... BTW, we have not even started on Video / Teleconf in this country yet. Everyone on the thread is thinking Carrier Class outfits implementing the switches. Fact is Any campus that presently has fiber can benefit. Just a couple o'things when I had a minute.
