All of the provinces remit Federal tax from individuals and corporations. When the Federal government makes payments from its tax revenues it makes no sense to say that any of the payments are from any specific province.

It is worth noting that equalization payment is a Constitutional requirement:

"Parliament and the government of Canada are committed to the principle of making equalization payments to ensure that provincial governments have sufficient revenues to provide reasonably comparable levels of public services at reasonably comparable levels of taxation." (Subsection 36(2) of the Constitution Act, 1982)

I suppose you could try to make the case that the portion an equalization payment from an individual province is equal to a proportion of that provinces Federal taxes. If that were the case it could be said Alberta is paying 16% of the equalization payments. (Ontario is then paying 40% and BC is paying 22% of equalization)
