I have seen Clapton so many times with different groups of musicians and I have always noticed that he rarely duplicates a solo he played before. As was mentioned in an interview, his playing comes from the heart rather than practice. For example, he has NEVER been able to replicate his solo in "Badge," one of his greatest songs, and "Crossroads" has never been repeated. That said, what impressed me the most was his respect for George Harrison. When he played "My Guitar....", it was a near-perfect recreation of what he did on The Beatles' track, performed with such emotion that it might be his greatest live recording, IMHO.
