The cumulative number of vertebrates between 1900 and 2025 (to date) is around 200. 1/4 of those was from 1900-1940. By 1980 the total was up to 145. In the 45 years since we've added 55.

This is pretty normal (e.g., typical) looking variation given the changes in habitats over those periods. Absolutely NO EVIDENCE of any tie-in which atmospheric carbon, and no exciting correlation or happenstance either. It just looks like life happening. (It is a fact that humans, in the last few decades have been slightly more active in trying to prevent extinction, as in various African species monitored within controlled environments.
