A flash flood warning has been issued for two major U.S. states on Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service is warning two U.S. states about a potential flash flood situation. In recent weeks, multiple U.S. states have been hit hard by flash floods, including Texas and North Carolina.

On Sunday night, two major U.S. states could get hit hard by flash flooding. Both Missouri and Illinois are at risk, according to the National Weather Service.

"Flash flooding is anticipated tonight over Northeast MO and Central IL as storms containing 3-4"/hour rainfall rates develop this evening. Numerous flash floods are likely in the Moderate Risk area, some of which could be significant with localized 8" rainfall amounts possible," the NWS announced.
