James, Re: Denver, the bid level disparity is remarkable. One thought that occurs is that in the Denver BTA, it would be possible (like Las Vegas and Phoenix, though)to reach a high percentage of residential customers at a small incremental cost after building to the business customers. The problems with that rationalization are 1)well, what about Las Vegas, 2) the economics for residential broadband transceivers is still dicey for a ~$40/month service, and 3) Denver is one of TCI's 5 Supersystems -- one of the early deployment cities for Malone's full-feature cable modems. Why choose a point of attack where the Panzer division is encamped? It's a puzzle to me.
