Why did we disarm Ukraine?

Because every Ukrainian government that has existed since 1991 has been selling every piece of military technology and every pound of military hardware to literally anyone who'd pay and America didn't like Ukraine selling weapons to Al Qaeda so we paid Ukraine to destroy them.

The Ukrainians sold Soviet missile tech to North Korea in breach of international conventions in the 2000s, even the strategic ICBM stuff that Moscow never considered sharing.

Americans used to understand that independent Ukraine is an unfathomably corrupt rogue state. That's why they were so desperate to get the Soviet nukes back to Russia and not let the Ukrainians keep any strategic weapons.
