Many people like the idea of equal weight ETF’s and indices. But, it’s worth checking their performance compared to the same basket, but capitalization weighted.

By going “equal” you may be giving up a chance of having more of your money in winners.

Not to say that equal weighted will never have their day under the sun - just check below all the momentum divergences over the past 5 years or so (which mean very little, until the trend changes).
