Electrek and myself were the biggest cheerleaders for Tesla many, many years ago.
The reason few people can keep up with Musk on the big items is because he thinks very quickly. The execution of Robotaxi is perhaps behind the schedule he had planned on "Autonomy Day", he appears to me to be right there. Right where he was heading at that time. It has taken longer to get FSD working -- and required a couple restarts.

I think you are an ex-software developer, as am I. And surely some others around here. And that is what we're talking about here. The hardware requires no change from where we are. And software is essentially done.

So, it is really hard for me to comprehend what you think poses a problem? Permits & licenses? For what? Every disengagement or intervention in every city in America (and other places) is logged and repetitive incident locations and circumstances are worked out. They know precisely how many disengagements they're getting, or interventions, the pace at which they're resolved, and thus how much there is yet to be done.

It is important not to confuse a startup situation with full-scale production of large systems, in terms of complexity and unit costs.

What we saw today was a business that dead pretty well in the face of a serious downturn. Let's see how many of the others can withstand it as Tesla did.

That is due to well-diversified interests, excellent factories, and first-rate systems. Among other things. These are all things that will easily hold up over the next couple years as the smoke clears.
