When I was student in finance in the seventies, I have learnt that to maximize the risk/return relation, the ideal number was 11 stocks in a portfolio as long as you hold them in a diversified portfolio.

Below 11 the risk is higher, over 11, the return is lower.

Has it changed 50 years later?
